Rav Hirsch takes a slightly different angle on this pasuk asnd says that it is telling us to declare that only the gods of the nations are אלילים , ‘gods that deny’ that is, they are gods that withhold favour. The nations imagine that these gods to be inimical to the welfare of mankind. For this reason it is believed that men must fear them for their very lives and seek their favour by adoring them.
Not so, G-d, Whose Name Hashem proclaims the very opposite of ‘denying’, Who instead is ready at all times to give man new life and new future. He is not a G-d who denies. He is the Creating G-d of the universe. Hashem is the source of life, who creates every molecule in the universe by His Will alone. He constantly gives life and showers us with blessings that we do not deserve.
This pasuk tells us that we’re not into voodoo, we’re into truth.
