Rav Hirsch now gives us an insight into what we are supposed to achieve at the end of this long journey of Golus.
However much they may differ from one another, the various nations, with their own histories and cultures are all equal in one thing. They all claim כבוד, eminent importance and עוז, strength and invincibility.
Therefore Yisrael should approach the nations of the world with the demand that they give this כבוד ועוז over to Hashem and at last to render to His Name that which they have long known, the כבוד, the acknowledgment that they have failed to do until now.
This links to the next pasuk that says
(ח) הָבוּ לַה’ כְּבוֹד שְׁמוֹ שְׂאוּ מִנְחָה וּבֹאוּ לְחַצְרוֹתָיו:
Give to Hashem the honour of His Name, take up the offering of homage and come into His courts.
It is not sufficient that that they give this כבוד to Hashem with mere words, rather they should gather up real tangible tokens of honour and homage with all that they call their own. Bearing these very real symbols of tribute, then let them come into His courts, the antechambers of the Beis HaMikdash.
In a world that will be filled with awareness of Hashem, mere lip service is not enough, the nations have to do something real to show that they are committed to living with the truth of Hashem’s existence and mastery over the world.
